Hamtramck Idea Men: What's the Big Idea? WE ARE!

Big Ideas:  Only $1!

George and I have so many different ideas and so many tasks to do just keeping the company up and running that we just can't develop them all... so rather than just letting them languish, we decided that we would rather sell them.  The ideas presented here are somewhat "fleshed out"--at least one paragraph's worth of information, plus a few ideas on how to develop them-not just three-word sentences like "Man Bites Dog."  Once you buy an idea, the idea is yours, to be developed at your leisure;  you can even sell it to someone else!  Although we can't stop other people from coming up with similar ideas, we do promise that we are only selling each idea we have exactly once.

Example:  "The Defense Camera"

Basically, this is a feature that could potentially be added to any cellphone;  if you take an "emergency snapshot," the camera's image would automatically be uploaded to the city's 911 answering system, where a similar alarm would sound.  Thus, a picture of the assault or other crime in progress could be added, ready for the investigation.  Similar devices could be fitted to tasers or pepper-spray cannisters, to help prevent assaults.  This way, the intended victim can not only defend against an attacker, but also report the assault.

Another Example:  "The Unids:  An Alien Race"

The Unids are an intelligent race that reproduces in the manner of certain plants, using wind-borne seeds and fertilizing pollen that mix either on the wind or in the soil.  As a result, they don't have the same type of sexual mating behavior that we do, although during seeding phases, it's not uncommon for Unids that like each other to stay near each other, to make children with their genes more common.  The early phases of their lives are spent rooted in the ground until they reach the age where their tendrils are strong enough to dig them out and help them move on their own.  Most of the interesting plots for novels or comic books could come from the Unids and Humans meeting for the first time, although they could just be an alien race in conquest games like "Master of Orion."

We're mostly concerned with seeing ideas get developed;  it doesn't matter if we get famous or not.  If the Big Idea you get doesn't fit your interests, pass it along to someone.  Find a friend to help you develop your Big Idea... or if you don't know anybody who can help you, write to us, and we can work out a business plan.  All it takes to get started is a single dollar bill.  What do you have to lose?
